Common Questions

Q: What is Chiropractic Care?

A: Chiropractic is a natural method of treating health problems by
helping the spine and nerves to function normally and by giving the
body an environment in which to heal. The spinal cord, which is
protected by the spine, is the main pathway to the nervous system -
controlling movement, feeling and function throughout the body.

Spinal nerves become irritated when vertebral joints do not move
properly and muscles are in abnormal tension. Symptoms such
as headaches, back pain, muscle pain - and many other health
complications - can result from irritated spinal nerves. Chiropractic
care can resolve much of the pain and suffering caused by irritated
spinal nerves.

Q: What is a Spinal Adjustment?

A: After carefully locating joints that may not be moving properly in
the patient's spine or extremities, the chiropractor aligns the joints.
With alignment, the patient can experience improved motion and
flexibility and elimination or a decrease in pain.

Q: What is a Physical Therapy?

A: Physical therapy is rehabilitative therapy concerned with restoring
function, easing pain and preventing disability following injury,
disease or loss of a body part. The therapeutic properties of exercise,
joint mobilization, electrotherapy and soft-tissue work are used to
improve circulation, strengthen muscles and encourage return of
motion. Physical therapy is widely used to train or retrain an
individual to perform the activities of daily life.
